Members of yet another cooperative group housing society of Dwarka, Sham CGHS, conducted a self-draw for allotment of flats on Sunday. The society, having 75 members on their rolls against 75 flats, conducted the draw in the presence of the local MP and MLA.

Co-convener of the Association of Suffering Members of Co-operative Group Housing Societies Rajender Arya said with this self-draw the number of societies that have opted for such self-allocation has gone up to 25. While the Delhi Government had last year termed such draws “illegal” and threatened to lodge police cases against those carrying them out, the peoples' representatives said no illegality has been committed by the members of co-operative societies by entering into their own houses.
