Balwant Singh Rajoana, a convict on death row in connection with the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, complained of chest pain and was rushed to a government hospital here on Saturday. He was admitted to the Rajindra Medical College and Hospital.

Hospital Principal K.D. Singh told PTI that a three-member board of doctors was constituted to examine Rajoana. The tests conducted on him were found satisfactory, he said.

However, Rajoana had been referred to PGIMER Chandigarh for detailed examination, Dr. Singh added.

Rajoana was discharged from the hospital and taken back to jail. He will be taken to PGIMER soon, a jail official said. — PTI
