Rajasthan Roadways will purchase 1,000 new express buses this year and also expand its fleet of Volvo buses with the addition of at least 20 new buses of this category. The roadway is also planning to recruit more drivers, conductors, mechanics and officers to ensure smooth operations of buses.

Rajasthan Roadways Chairman & Managing Director Manjeet Singh said on Tuesday that more air-conditioned buses would be introduced on routes to the district headquarters in the State. Special buses are being run right now between Jaipur and Allahabad for the convenience of Kumbh pilgrims, he added.

“Facilities will be improved”

Mr. Singh said the facilities being extended by the roadway to passengers and tourists at Bikaner House, Sarai Kale Khan and Dhaula Kuan bus terminals in New Delhi would be improved to attract more travellers. The online ticket booking system will also be streamlined, he added.
