A 26-year-old property dealer was shot at allegedly by a friend-turned-foe following an argument over a payment in East Delhi’s Geeta Colony on Wednesday night.

In his complaint, the victim, Gurjeet Singh, told the police that he had loanedclose to Rs.6 lakh to his friend Sachin alias Bunty who had promised to return the same. However, later he refused to pay back.

On Wednesday night, Sachin, along with some of his accomplices, had come to Gurjeet’s house. There was an argument between them and it soon led to a scuffle.

“Sachin then allegedly fired a shot from a country-made pistol and a bullet hit Gurjeet’s leg. Hearing the gunshot, area residents gathered at the spot and the accused fled,” said a police source.

A call was subsequently made to the Police Control Room and Gurjeet was rushed to the hospital. A case of attempt to murder has been registered at the Geeta Colony police station on the basis of Gurjeet’s statement.
