NEW DELHI: The Delhi police on Tuesday released the sketches of two of the suspects in the shooting incident in which two shopkeepers were shot at and injured at Madangir here over the weekend. The victims’ families have alleged that it was a case of robbery.
The portraits have been prepared on the basis of descriptions given by the victims and an eyewitness.
The police suspect that there is some link between those behind the Madangir shooting incident and the criminals who shot dead two young men at Amar Colony and another man near the Andrews Ganj flyover on July 11.
Several teams have been formed to track down the suspects and those with a criminal past are being picked up for questioning. The Special Staff of the district police has also been involved in the investigations.
The police had on Monday released a sketch of one of the suspects in the Amar Colony case. The sketches have been circulated to the police stations in the Capital seeking information about the suspects.
Meanwhile, extra force has been deployed in the Madangir market area. Though barricades have been erected on the roads to conduct random checking of two-wheelers, the police have not made any breakthrough so far.
