Faridkot: A court here has acquitted all the eight accused in the 2005 Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET) question paper leak case for want of evidence.

The Court of District Sessions Judge Varinder Kumar on Saturday acquitted Binder Ramesh Kumar, Buta Ram, Rakesh Kumar, Surinderpal Kapoor, Vinod Khanna, Nand Kishore, Kanwaljit Singh and Balwinder Singh, who were charged with the paper leak.

The case was registered after 88 questions out of 200 in the 2005 PMET test were found to have been leaked before the exam held in June 2005. During the trial, the witnesses in the case had turned hostile. -- PTI
