The protesting workers of the Maruti Suzuki Workers’ Union of the Manesar plant had a “difficult time” getting permission for organising a convention at Ambedkar Bhavan and a rally at Jantar Mantar here on Sunday.

They had intimated the authorities about their proposed programme and were reportedly granted permission, but it was withdrawn on Saturday evening on the pretext of “law and order” problem. It was only after much convincing that the convention and the rally would not affect the law and order situation that permission was finally granted.
