The Bharatiya Janata Party will oppose any additional financial burden on residents of resettlement colonies, said a senior leader of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation on Friday. South Delhi Municipal Corporation Leader of House Subhash Arya condemned the Delhi Government’s decision to charge 100 per cent circle rate from occupants through sale or purchase of allotted plots.

He said that residents of these colonies have lived there since 1950.

Mr. Arya said that after removing slums and clusters in 1950, the Government had allotted 25 to 80-square yard plots to the residents.

These clusters are situated at Raghuveer Nagar, Sriniwaspuri, Wazirpur, Satya Niketan, Sunlight Colony, Dakshinpuri, Pandav Nagar, Shakarpur, Jahangirpuri, Narayana, Trilokpuri, Sultanpuri, Brahmpuri, Seemapuri, Welcome, Janakpuri, Pankha Road and Madangir areas.
