Delhi University sold an estimated 14,000 forms this year for the common entrance test for entry to the popular English (Honours) course and over 12,000 aspirants are expected to appear for the exam through which 21 colleges will admit students.

The sale of forms for CATE began on a lukewarm note 12 days back but the sale picked up this week after the CBSE results were announced.

The closing date that was earlier scheduled for May 26 was extended by two days, and over 14,000 forms were sold in the late rush.

Delhi University's Head of the English department Prof Sumanyu Satpathy said the department has received between 12,000 to 13,000 application forms by the last day of submission.

The exam will be conducted on June 5 and the scores will be released on June 13. - PTI
