He had taken over the property used fake papers
NEW DELHI: A man, who was also wanted in a murder case, has been arrested by Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi police for allegedly grabbing a property on the basis of forged document.
According to the police, a case was registered at the Darya Ganj police station early this year on the complaint of Rajiv Goswami that a property in Kucha Chellan, Daryaganj, that had been bought by his grandfather in 1930s had been fraudulently grabbed by someone and new buildings were constructed in its place.
Subsequently, the case was transferred to the EOW. Following investigations, the police arrested Zia Naved, a resident of Darya Ganj.
Earlier, investigations had revealed that Zia had purportedly bought the property in 1990 from one Hari Das Goswami, who was supposed to be a family member of Mr. Goswami.
However, the police came to know that there was nobody by the name of Hari Das Goswami. Mr. Goswami's father had rented out the single storey, which was in two blocks, to two Christian families. They, however, suddenly left the house in 1990. In the meantime, Zia got two new buildings constructed after razing the original structure.
