A major fire broke out in a refined oil factory in the Rania industrial belt here, gutting the entire factory, the police said on Saturday.

The incident occurred when a pile of husk lying behind Vaibhav Oil Factory in the Rania area caught fire on Friday and soon spread inside entire premises within no time, they said.

Nearly a dozen oil tankers inside the factory also exploded, spreading flames in nearby vicinity.

Sixteen fire tenders were rushed to spot and it took nearly eight hours to douse fire.. No casualty was reported, the police said.

Fire officer S.K. Singh said what caused the fire is yet to be ascertained and added that the investigation is on. PTI
