New Delhi: Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council chairman and former Reserve Bank of India Governor C. Rangarajan opened a new branch of Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) at Fatehpuri in Chandni Chowk here on Monday.

This is the tenth branch of the Tamil Nadu-based KVB in Delhi and the 336 {+t} {+h} in India.

KVB Chairman A. Janarthanan, MD and CEO P. T. Kuppuswamy, Executive Director T. M. Lakshmikantham and Branch Manager T. Sivarama Prasad were present on the occasion.

Dr. Rangarajan said that the Capital Adequacy Ratio of KVB (above 14 per cent) and net non-performing assets (0.23 per cent) showed the strength and efficiency of the bank.

Mr. Kuppuswamy said the bank's total business had crossed Rs. 33,000 crore. The bank received the CFBP Jamnalal Bajaj award for Fair Business Practices in the Financial Sector category and also the second most Tech Savvy bank award for 2009.
