NEW DELHI: Aimed at attracting more customers towards its recently launched 3G mobile services in the Capital, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd. (MTNL) on Wednesday introduced a bouquet of value-added services (VAS) including live TV, video-on-demand and video-conferencing.

“All these services will be available at highly competitive prices. A subscriber can make a video call or avail of 3G VAS services at just Rs.2 per minute. Rates can be further reduced to just 30 paise per minute if monthly subscription of Rs.30 is availed,” said MTNL Chairman and Managing Director R. S. P. Sinha.

Mr. Sinha said MTNL had already added over 2-lakh 3G subscribers to its network in the Capital, while another 3-lakh would be added by the end of 2009-10.

“These new offerings, upgraded network and best tariff structure will help us garner more subscribers, not only in 3G service but also 2G,” he added. “We hope to have 50-lakh subscribers by the end of March 2010,” he said. MTNL, which operates in Delhi and Mumbai, has over 44-lakh subscribers at present.
