NEW DELHI: A minor fire broke out in the basement of the under-construction Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Monday.

The Delhi Fire Service received a call around 4-45 p.m. about a fire in about two-dozen batteries kept in the basement of the terminal. Three fire tenders were pressed into service and soon the blaze was brought under control.

According to a DIAL official, the fire erupted due to a faulty UPS battery.
