Minimum wages hiked

The Delhi Government has decided to implement the revised rates of minimum wages for unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled workers in shops, establishments and clubs, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said on Tuesday.

The new rates came into effect from Tuesday. The rates were last revised in April 2013.

Now the monthly minimum wages of unskilled workers have been fixed at Rs.8,086 (previously Rs.7,722). For semi-skilled workers it is Rs.8,918 and for skilled workers at Rs.9,802 (previously Rs.9,386).
