NEW DELHI: A 37-year-old man has been arrested on charges of impersonation and forgery in Lodhi Colony here. According to the police, Umesh Kumar, a resident of Vikaspuri, reached the CBI office in the Lodhi Colony area on Friday posing as an advocate. When he made some inquiries, CBI officials grew suspicious and alerted the local police. Umesh was arrested.

During investigation, the police allegedly recovered several fake identity cards and stamps from the accused.

The accused purportedly told the police that he had sent several complaints to various international agencies seeking action against corrupt officials in India. Finding no help from any of them, he decided to take it upon himself to curb corruption and procured fake identity cards and stamps.

The accused belongs to Gopalganj in Bihar.
