NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly duping people of their money on false promises of sending them to European countries.

According to the police, Ravi Kalra, a resident of Gurgaon, took Rs.4.5 lakh from Nasir Hussain, a resident of Aman Vihar, promising to send him to a European country. He told Nasir that he would be taken first to Namibia from where his men would take him to the European country. Nasir was, however, arrested in Namibia for travelling on fake documents and deported to India.

On his return to Delhi, Nasir asked Ravi to refund his money. But Ravi refused to pay and Nasir reported the matter to the police. Ravi was then arrested.

Five passports have been seized from Ravi. The police suspect that the list of victims could be long.
