NEW DELHI: In a complaint to the Delhi police, copies of which have also been sent to the Lieutenant-Governor and the Chief Minister, a resident of Meethapur in Badarpur area of South Delhi has charged that attempts were being made by some persons to forcibly grab his private property in the village in the guise of setting up a hospital there.

In his complaint to DCP (South Delhi), Mahavir Prasad, a farmer, said the land in question, khasra No. 393 and 399 in Meethapur village, was allotted to him, along with 51 others, over three decades ago under the 20-Point Programme launched by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for landless persons.

Claiming that the property is in his “right, title and interest,” he said attempts were being made by Gaon Sabha officials and other influential persons to grab the land and give it legal sanctity purportedly by setting up a hospital.
