Many occupying posts pertaining to Games have been retained
NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government carried out a major bureaucratic shuffle on Friday just before Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit left for a vacation in Uttarakhand.
While a number of new officers have come in, many officials who were occupying key posts pertaining to works associated with the Commonwealth Games-2010 have been retained.
As per order issued by the Services Department, IAS officer Naresh Kumar, Additional Commissioner (Municipal Corporation of Delhi), has been transferred and posted as Managing Director of Delhi Transport Corporation.
He will relieve R.K. Verma of the additional charge of DTC MD but Mr. Verma would continue to hold the charge of DTC Chairman as his additional responsibility.
Mr. Kumar’s place in the MCD would be taken up by another IAS officer and Secretary SC/ST/OBC, R.K. Srivastava.
B.V. Selvaraj, IAS, has been posted as Principal Secretary-cum-Commissioner Development. Another IAS officer and Secretary Environment and Forest and Revenue, J. K. Dadoo, who was expected to be moved out to Andamans, has been retained and would continue to function in his present post.
Rina Ray will now also look after Volunteer Training Projects relating to Commonwealth Games besides functioning as Secretary Art, Culture and Language.
Secretary-cum-Commissioner (Industries) Dharmendra has been given additional charge of Secretary SC/ST/OBC. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, IAS, MD (DKIV), has been posted as Legal Consultant VAT in Trade and Taxes Department.
Savitur Prasad, MD, Shahjahanbad Re-development Corporation, has been given additional charge of Secretary (IT). He will relieve G. Narendra Kumar, an IAS officer, of the additional charge of Secretary (IT).
Dr. Kumar would continue to work as Secretary (TTE) and Secretary Higher Education.
There has been a shuffle in respect of DANICS officers and other IAS officers also. K.K. Jindal, DANICS, has been posted as Additional Commissioner Trade and Taxes; A.K. Singh, IAS officer and Additional Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, has been given additional charge of Director ISMH; N.K. Sharma, DANICS and Additional Commissioner Industries, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Delhi Commission for Safai Karmacharis.
V. K. S. Chauhan, DANICS, has been posted as Joint Secretary Vigilance, Directorate of Vigilance.
