In Shimla district, mass rallies were held in Shimla town, Theog, Rampur and Rohru.
In Shimla town, the CPI(M) activists comprising students, women, youth, working class, middle class employees, traders, porters and several other sections assembled outside the District Commissioner's office. After an hour-long dharna, they marched through the streets and held a corner meeting at Naaz, the other end of The Mall here.
The speakers accused both the BJP and the Congress of usurping the share of the common people through ruinous neo-liberal policies, the principal source of corruption.
