The first coach of every Delhi Metro train will continue to be reserved for ladies as at present except on the trains going from Badarpur towards Central Secretariat.
Starting Thursday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has decided to make the last coach of the train the “ladies’ coach” on trains coming from Badarpur.
For women commuters going from Central Secretariat towards Badarpur, the first coach will continue to be the reserved coach as before.
The step is taken to ensure ‘Ladies in and Ladies out’ from the same coach to avoid inconvenience to women passengers who have to otherwise face difficulties in de-boarding at interchange stations such as Central Secretariat.
To guide passengers for the initial period, announcements will be made inside the trains running on this route and also at stations and guards will be deployed at platforms.
