Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir has been administered oath of office of Acting Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court by Governor Urmila Singh in a simple ceremony here on Wednesday.

Officiating Chief Secretary P. Mitra conducted the proceedings and read out the notification of appointment.

Justice Mir hails from Village Rajpora in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. He was sworn in as additional Judge of the High Court in January 2005 and elevated as permanent Judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in July 2007. He was transferred to the High Court of Himachal Pradesh on November 19 this year.

Justice Mir, a topper in the State Judicial examinations, had also remained as Principal District and Session Judge of Kupwara and Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir.

Was made permanent Judge of the J&K High Court in July 2007
