New Delhi: A court here on Saturday extended by 20 days the judicial custody of self-styled “godman” Shiv Murat Dwivedi in a case lodged under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act for allegedly running a flesh trade racket here in the Capital. “The judicial custody of the accused is extended till June 4,” Additional Sessions Judge S. K. Sarvaria said. The police, who had earlier filed a charge-sheet under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act against Dwivedi and seven others including six alleged call girls, are yet to complete their probe into the case lodged under MCOCA.
Except for Dwivedi alias Ichchadhari Sant Swami Bhimanand Ji Maharaj Chitrakootwale, all other accused are out on bail in another case.The police in their charge-sheet alleged that Dwivedi had amassed wealth running into crores of rupees through the flesh racket.
“Dwivedi is running the sex racket for the last 10 to 12 years and has earned properties and wealth running into crores of rupees,” the charge-sheet said. During interrogation, the policehave recovered various documents relating to propertiesand bank details, the charge-sheet said.- PTI
