o prove that he is different from his contemporaries, Bollywood film-maker Vikram Bhatt, known for his horror films, has now made Horror Story . Though this upcoming film fits within the horror genre, the film-maker hasn’t depicted traditional songs or sex. To give cinemagoers an edge-of-the-seat experience, the film showcases relentless horror.

“From the first scene to the last, the one constant factor is horror. I hope the film makes film buffs clench their teeth and stick to their seats. If they do so, I will feel I have been successful in frightening them.”

Since the film revolves around seven youngsters, Vikram thought it would be a good idea to rope in newcomers. Moreover, he is not selling stardom but fear in this film.

“My film does not need stars. So I took the trouble of giving a launch pad to newcomers. TV actor Karan Kundra is making a debut along with Hasan Zaidi, Ravish Desai, Aparna Bajpai and Radhika Menon. In the film, the youngsters decide to spend a night at an infamous hotel in the heart of the city. Little do they know that their idea of fun will turn out to be the most nightmarish experience of their lives.”

Vikram says he has been experimenting with his films, citing Dangerous Ishq and the upcoming Creature as examples.

“Nowadays, a film is not male or female-dominated. It is all about a good script and a good film. I have made a lot of female-centric films like Raaz , Dangerous Ishq , 1920 and now Creature . Every film has a unique selling point. This film has fear as its unique selling point. There are no songs in this film, which narrates the story of one night.”

Mahesh Bhatt, an institution in filmmaking, has been instrumental in helping him evolve as a film-maker.

Mr. Bhatt says: “His [Mahesh] one input changes the whole film for better. He is my guru and my mentor. I talk to him all the time regarding my films, my life, my problems and ask for his guidance whenever I am confused. I always take his suggestions for poster designs and ideas.”

The constant factor is fear, says Vikram Bhatt about his new film
