NEW DELHI: Venturing into the field of distance education, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University here will now offer a new course: Bachelor of Computer Applications -- Industry Specific.

The programme will be conducted under the aegis of the University’s Directorate of Open and Distance Education in collaboration with the Computer Society of India.

The three-year programme will be divided into six semesters and will offer a facility to specialise in emerging areas like telecommunications, life sciences, banking and retail, software engineering and information technology-enabled services.

The course will also give the students an option to exit at the end of the second semester or the fourth semester with a certificate and diploma, respectively.

The programme will be imparted through the University’s authorised study centres (ASCs) in Delhi, Aligarh, Agra, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Indore, Jagdalpur, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Noida and Patiala.
