A high alert has been sounded in the Capital in the wake of the blasts in Hyderabad on Thursday.
“The entire force was put on alert immediately after we received information about the blasts. Patrolling at public places, including railway and metro stations, bus terminuses, places of worship and major market places, and vital installations has been intensified and mobile teams deployed to keep a track on any suspicious movement. Security of all the vulnerable locations are being reviewed constantly,” said a senior police officer.
The police are in touch with Central intelligence and their counterparts in neighbouring States for sharing any vital information pertaining to suspicious activities. “We have already got closed-circuit television cameras installed at several market places, which are of great help in keeping surveillance,” said the police officer.
“Although there is no concrete input suggesting any imminent terror activity in the city so far, we remain alert given that Delhi being the national capital is always high on the target list of terror outfits,” said the officer.
