A special electricity court at Rohini has sentenced two brothers to judicial custody for not paying the bail amount that they had earlier been ordered to deposit in a power theft case filed by power distribution company NDPL.

The accused, bothers Praveen Jain and Jaideep Jain, were booked in a power theft case by NDPL and the total penalty amounted to Rs.63,95,854. The special court had then granted them bail on the condition that they deposit Rs. 22,38,548 which was 35 per cent of the penalty amount. The accused defaulted on the court order and failed to deposit the amount and have now been sent to judicial custody, said an NDPL spokesperson.

The duo will now be produced in court on December 20, 2011.
