Haryana to set

up call centres

Haryana will soon set up call centres at State and district levels for the convenience of voters. Stating this here on Saturday, Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Sumita Misra said each centre would be equipped with a dedicated phone.

She said Rs.45 lakh had been earmarked to implement the scheme.

The timings of the voter helpline call centre would be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The service would be web-enabled to quickly respond to the queries and problems of the voters.

A common short code, “1965”, has also been allotted to Haryana by the Election Commission of India from the Central Department of Telecommunications, she added. BSNL would run these centres, she added.
