The Haryana Government has constituted a Haryana State Innovation Council headed by State Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati for promotion of innovations.
An official spokesman said here on Thursday that the other members are Deep Kapuria, Chairman, Hi-tech Gears; Jitender Mehta, Managing Director, Omax Autos; Jayant Davar, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Sandhar Technologies; Arvind Kapur, Managing Director, Rico Auto Industries; Krishan Goyal, CMD Modern Dairies; Anil Gupta, Executive Chairman, National Innovation Foundation, Ahmedabad; Vice-Chancellors of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal, Bhagwat Dayal Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan, Sonepat, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, and Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and Director, IIM, Rohtak.
The Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Science & Technology would be the Member-Secretary.
The Council would identify and reward talent in innovation, encourage young talent in colleges, universities, medium and small-scale industries and R & D institutes in the State besides facilitating linkage or networks among all the educational and knowledge institutions at all levels. It would also encourage innovations in governance and public service delivery.
Meanwhile, the State Government has constituted a Service Delivery Review Committee headed by the Chief Secretary to recommend steps to ensure efficient and timely delivery of services to the citizens.
