After a plea that he be allowed to take an Indian Air Force clerical services test and be provided with a tutor, Vinay Sharma, one of the accused in the December 16 gang-rape case, on Tuesday sought a direction to IGNOU from the Sessions court to provide him a copy of the examination schedule for the first year of its BA course.

Vinay said that he had taken admission in the first year of IGNOU’s BA programme in August last year. His counsel, A. P. Singh, claimed that IGNOU has not yet sent the exam schedule to Vinay and sought directions to the university to provide the schedule to help him prepare for his examination.

Special Public Prosecutor Dayan Krishnan raised objection to Vinay’s request, saying his parents could collect the date sheet or even his counsel could do the same. Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna asked the Delhi Police to file its response to the plea.
