Four minors have been detained and sent to a juvenile justice home for killing one of their friends here, the police said on Friday.

The police came to know about the murder three days after the incident, when one of the accused surrendered at a police station and confessed to the crime. The incident was reported from West Delhi’s Narela area.

All the accused, aged between 12 years and 16 years, allegedly killed their 14-year-old friend over personal rivalry on Tuesday night and dumped his body at a secluded place in Narela industrial area. All four live in Narela’s slums.

“The police are yet to identify the victim as his face had been smashed with a stone. Personal enmity was the reason behind the murder,” the police said, adding, “In his confession, the accused said that on Tuesday night he and his other associates and the victim had met in a park. They drank alcohol and killed the victim.”
