Phones affected

Over 3,000 MTNL telephone lines were snapped due to a major underground cable theft in the Mangolpuri telephone exchange area.

MTNL officials said thieves used heavy earthmovers to take away five underground cables that led to disruption of services to over 3,000 customers in at least a dozen residential blocks in Mangolpuri and Mangolpuri Industrial Area Phase-I. Restoration work is on and will take at least a week before all telephone lines are restored, the officials said.
