A day-long workshop was organised by the Gurgaon Renewal Mission and Gurgaon First here on Wednesday to discuss possible ways for cheaper and more reliable power to the city and the need to promote solar energy.

“The daily power demand in Gurgaon has doubled over the past five years and the gap in power demand and supply seems to be widening. Home to more than 1.5 million people, Gurgaon consistently experiences acute power crisis. We need to address it urgently,” said DLF Foundation chief executive officer Rajender Singh.
