A fire broke out on the second floor of Nirman Bhawan here on Thursday. However, no injuries were reported.

The incident took place around 10-30 a.m. when the fire broke out in an air conditioner installed in one of the rooms housing Ministry of Urban Development offices.

The CISF personnel immediately removed inflammable articles like cooking gas cylinders from the canteen on the second floor and helped the government employees out of the building in time.

Two persons trapped inside the fire corridor were also rescued, said the officer.

Nine Delhi Fire service tenders were rushed to spot. The fire was extinguished by half-an-hour.

A photocopier machine, some furniture and files were damaged, he added.
