A minor fire broke out on Friday evening in a Delhi market but was doused in an hour, a fire officer said. No one was injured.

“The Fire Department received a call around 5.15 p.m. from Lila Ram market near South Extension Part-II,” said an officer of the Delhi Fire Service.

Eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot and took an hour to douse the fire, the officer said, adding, “The cause of the fire is stated to be an electrical short-circuit in a shop located on the ground floor of the multi-storey building.”
