Former Haryana Finance Minister and Congress legislator Sampat Singh on Saturday described the Union Budget and Railway Budget as “progressive and growth–oriented”.

In a statement, he said Haryana's integral development would receive a boost from the two budgets presented in Parliament. He appreciated that the allocation of Rs.50 crore to CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, would take the level of research in agricultural sciences to new heights and the approval of railway lines from Hansi to Rohtak via Meham would not only benefit the people of the state but also be very beneficial to the entrepreneurs. Also, the new rail line linking Hisar directly to Delhi was a step in the right direction.
