Topics announced for different categories

NEW DELHI: Come November and it is time for The Hindu Young World Painting Competition.

This year the competition will be conducted at 14 centres -- at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode on vember 29 and at New Delhi, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and Tiruchirapalli on November 30.

As in previous years, there is no entry fee or entry form for participation. All those desirous of participating in the competition (both juniors – from Class IV to Class VII, and seniors – from Class VIII to Class X) have to send their drawings (for the preliminary round) to the centre nearest to their place or where they would like to come for the finals.

The topics for the preliminary round for the junior category are: “Sports Day”, “In the zoo”, “Flying kites” and “Birthday party”.

For the senior category, the topics are: “Watching a stage play”, “On a hill station”, “Bandh/strike day” and “Environment Day”.

The preliminary round entries should reach all centres by November 3. All those selected for the finals will be sent individual letters containing details about the venue of the competition and timing.
