Two killed by elephants in Assam

Two persons were trampled to death by a herd of wild elephant in Baksa district of Assam. According to the police, the herd of elephants came from the forests in Bhutan on Saturday night and demolished around 10 houses at the Menaka tea estate in Baksa district The jumbos then trampled two persons, identified as Dipal Narzary (28) and Ashok Sikh (40).

Narzary was from Bogamati village, while Sikh hailed from Nagrijuli, the police said. —PTI
