E-court fee system at all district courts

Delhi has become the first State in the country to introduce the e-court fee system in all its six district courts, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit announced on Tuesday.

Ms. Dikshit said the new system was first introduced in Delhi High Court in November last, and thereafter the district courts at Dwarka, Patiala House, Rohini, Saket, Tis Hazari and Karkardooma.

The Chief Minister lauded the role played by the Revenue Department in ensuring the switchover from adhesive stamps to e-stamping system in the shortest possible time. In fact, the entire exercise was completed in the district courts within three weeks starting mid-January, she said.

Ms. Dikshit said the new system was a web-based secure system that provided easy accessibility, faster processing, single court fee receipt of exact denomination irrespective of the amount and a unique e-court fee receipt number with bar code to ensure security of transactions. Besides, the system also provides facilities for verification and ‘locking facility’ to court officials.
