Offers 14 B. Tech programmes this year with a total intake of 910 seats

NEW DELHI: Delhi Technological University has announced the admission schedule for its under-graduate and post-graduate courses for the upcoming academic year.

The sale of prospectus and application forms for B.Tech. programmes will start at the university counter this Wednesday, whereas for M.Tech. programmes it will begin on June 1. The prospectus and application forms for Ph.D. programmes will be available from June 10.

Earlier known as Delhi College of Engineering, DTU will offer 14 B. Tech programmes this year with a total intake of 910 seats. Eighty-five per cent of the seats will be reserved for Delhi students while the remaining 15 per cent will be for outsiders. Only those students who have passed their Class XII or B.Sc. (General) or B.Sc. (Hons) examination with a minimum of 60 per cent marks in physics, chemistry and maths can apply.

The M.Tech programmes will be available in 17 disciplines with 306 seats for full-time courses and 45 seats on a part-time basis. Besides having secured a minimum of 60 per cent marks in the prescribed qualifying exam, a candidate needs to have a valid GATE score to secure admission to the programme. However, those applying for the part-time course need not have GATE score but should be employed with a minimum one-year experience.

To be eligible for the Ph.D. programme in engineering a student needs to have an M.E. or M.Tech degree in the appropriate branch with minimum of 60 per cent marks. For courses in Applied Sciences, one needs to have M.Sc. with minimum 60 per cent marks. Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of personal interview conducted by the University Research Council.

Interested candidates can download the application form from the university website www.dce.edu and submit it alongside a demand draft of Rs.750 for the B.Tech and M.Tech programmes.

The last date for submitting the completed application forms for B.Tech and M.Tech programmes is June 21 and for the Ph.D. programme the deadline is June 25.
