A dismissed Delhi Police Sub-Inspector has been arrested for allegedly murdering his male domestic help in Vikaspuri earlier this year. The accused was miffed over the victim's alleged intimacy with his wife.

The police received a call on June 16 saying that a person was lying injured in a flat at Sunrise Apartments in Vikaspuri. The victim, identified as Ganga, was declared brought dead at a hospital in Janakpuri. Investigation revealed that Ganga had been beaten up and stabbed by his employer Azad Singh, a 1977 batch Delhi Police Sub-Inspector who was later dismissed for anti-departmental activities.

Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested Azad at Tikri border on November 9. Azad purportedly told the police that Ganga had been working in his house for the past two decades and had become close to his wife over the period of time. It often led to altercations between the two.

On June 15, the couple again had a quarrel on the matter. Azad allegedly attacked Ganga with knife the next day when his wife and two sons were away.
