The “Nirulas” outlet opposite the Arts Faculty in Delhi University will soon be no more. The place instead will be used to run a non-profit organisation for the students by the students and will be part of the four-year under graduation programme, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship.

“We are in talks with Lady Irwin College and IRCTC to help out. This is an opportunity for students interested in management and training programmes and in catering and food business. Along with serving as a practical training venue, it will also be a place to encourage entrepreneurship,” says Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Dinesh Singh.

He says students graduating will be given an opportunity to run the place up to a year; they will be self-sufficient and will learn the tricks of the trade before they face the real world. The students will have to run the place themselves, managing the profits and salaries of themselves and the supporting staff.
