NEW DELHI: A professionally managed art gallery that promotes and supports contemporary artists, Galleria would from Tuesday present the latest paintings in mixed media by S. Ayesha at an exhibition titled `Different Faces' that would be mounted at Delhi's Visual Arts Gallery in India Habitat Centre. Art curator Alka Pande will curate the show.

Incidentally, the gallery run by Annu Lulla and Babs Whig has over 100 established and emerging artists associated with it since its inception over 12 years ago. Having a presence in both Mumbai and Delhi, it represents artists from all over India.

The show by S. Ayesha would reflect on the different aspects of her life and the different faces she carries. Speaking about her work and this exhibition, the artist says: "Different Faces is about me, my feelings, dreams, ideas, fantasies and experiences that I have had in the last eight months. Like a personal diary, my work reflects the different aspects of my life and the different faces I carry. In essence, these are all self- portraits.''

On the medium used, Ayesha says: "I like to use lots of new media and technologies including X-rays, photo shop, digital photographs, projectors, commercial packaging, internet, transparencies with glass paint, reflective material, holographic paper, hand-made paper and acrylic glass. With these materials, I create large collages of all the crazy and beautiful experiences in my life.'' Meanwhile, besides India, Galleria has also done many exhibitions in Hong Kong, Singapore, New York, Djakarta and The Millennium Collection in London. These art shows have been extremely well received and have earned worldwide acclaim from Indian art aficionados across the globe.
