Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday condemned the statement by former RSS chief K.S. Sudershan in which he “accused UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi of hatching conspiracies which resulted in the death of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.''
In a statement issued here, Mr. Hooda asked Mr. Sudershan to apologise to Ms. Gandhi and the people of the country.
“This kind of statement can be made only by a person who has lost his mental balance. Everyone knows how many sacrifices the Gandhi family has made for the country both before and after Independence. Both Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi laid down their lives for the unity and integrity of the country, the cause they worked for during their lifetimes. Moreover, the Nehru-Gandhi family is well-known for its devotion and service to the country.''
Mr. Hooda asserted that the agenda of the RSS was to communalise and divide the country, a fact which found reflection in the involvement of some RSS leaders in cases of bomb blasts.
Mr. Sudershan should have looked inwards before making such “despicable charges,'' he added, while highlighting that the Congress President had renounced the post of Prime Minister and given it to a clean and honest person like Manmohan Singh.
