The director of a dental college in Hazaribagh was on Saturday sent to 14 days’ judicial custody for allegedly registering a part of the acquired land in his wife’s name.

After arresting the director of the Swabalambi Dental College, Dilip Prasad, on Friday night, police produced him in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, which sent him to judicial custody.

According to the Officer-in-Charge, Arvind Kumar Singh, the villagers had donated 23 acres in 2003 for the dental college at Silwar in the district, and it became functional a couple of years later.

It was granted affiliation and registration by Vinobha Bhave University as well as the Dental Council of India.
