Rain gives Delhiites much-needed respite

A spell of rain brought the much needed respite from the hot and sultry weather for Delhiites on Thursday evening.

According to the Met Department, the Capital received 5.2 mm of rainfall between 5.30 a.m. and 8.30 p.m. The temperature was recorded at 33.6 degrees Celsius at 5.30 p.m. and it dropped to 27.2 degrees by 8.30 p.m.

Earlier in the day, the maximum temperature settled one notch higher than normal at 34.4 degrees and the humidity level hovered between 72 and 94 per cent. The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.7 degrees, which was normal for this time of the year. But it was the high humidity level which made Delhiites sweat. — PTI
