Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC) is set to open admissions for its add-on language courses from June 16. The college offers certificate courses in five languages — French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. A maximum of 50 seats is available in total for the courses. An applicant needs to attain at least 40 per cent in their Class XII exams to get admission to one of these add on courses. Graduate students are also eligible to apply for these courses. Classes are held thrice a week, on alternative days.

In addition to the certificate courses, the college also offers diploma in German and Spanish.

“This diploma is available only if we have at least 12 applicants willing to enrol for the same,” the administration staff confirmed. Students who have completed any certificate course from the University of Delhi are eligible for the same. Those who have not completed a certificate course from the University of Delhi, or have completed a certificate course from any other university have to appear for an entrance test. The date for the entrance test is decided after scrutinising the number of applications received.

One year course

Both the certificate and the diploma courses are of one year duration and are self-financed.

The application forms for these courses would be available from the counters at the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, situated at Netaji Nagar in New Delhi. The last date for the applications has not yet been decided, but is expected to be announced soon after the commencement of sale of these forms.
