NEW DELHI: The Delhi State Communist Party of India (Marxist) has criticised the Delhi Government for failing to rein in the unabated rise in prices of foodstuff.

Holding the Delhi Government of being guilty of not taking any action against illegal hoarding and forward trading by big traders, the party said the prices of essentials including vegetables and pulses had sky-rocketed.

The steep rise in prices, the party claimed, has led to illegal forwarding of essentials like pulses and sugar. “The refusal of the UPA Government to undo the retrograde changes in the Essential Commodities Act made by the NDA Government is facilitating hoarding and black-marketing ,” the CPI (M) said in a release issued here.
