NEW DELHI: A city court on Saturday issued notice to a senior official of the Delhi Government asking him to reply as to whether any Protection Officer (PO) was appointed under the newly-notified Domestic Violence (Prevention) Act 2005.

Metropolitan Magistrate Devender Kumar Jangala, while hearing a complaint , asked the Secretary (Home), Government of NCT of Delhi to reply on November 21 as to whether any PO has been appointed under the Act.

``While entertaining the application under Section 12 (of the DV Act), it is provided that before passing an order on application, the Magistrate shall take into consideration any domestic incident report from the Protection Officer,'' the court observed. -PTI
