NEW DELHI: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president J. P. Agarwal on Tuesday said the party has entrusted responsibility for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls to office-bearers and other party functionaries.

One DPCC office-bearer would be appointed as observer for five Assembly constituencies, and in each Assembly constituency a PCC secretary or an Executive Committee member would be given responsibility for the elections, he added. Addressing a meeting of DPCC secretaries at Rajiv Bhavan here, Mr. Agarwal said other office-bearers would be appointed observers at individual municipal wards. He expressed confidence that the party would be able to sweep all even Lok Sabha seats from Delhi and the Congress would come to power at the Centre once again. The meeting was also addressed by former Himachal Pradesh Minister Asha Kumari, who has been appointed observer for the parliamentary elections from Delhi. Ms. Kumari said special representatives should be appointed to manage the booths from now on as no party can succeed without activating its workers at the booth-level.
